Job Description

What you will do
As a Designer – Rooftop you will maintain a mastery of standard mechanical technical principles, theories, concepts, techniques, CAD software and processes, have a good understanding of most advanced technical principles, theories, concepts, techniques and processes, define objectives, priorities, and critical areas after broader annual personal goals are identified, and contribute to completing a program under-budget and ahead-of-schedule.
 
How you will do it
  • Understand most common terminology and usage for program in immediate area.
  • Analyze assembly drawings, processes and BOMs to find root cause for product nonconformance during product manufacture.
  • Recommend and implement corrective action for the above root cause as necessary.
  • Forecast work activities and define processes for repetitive tasks.  Plan for on time completion of assigned tasks.
  • Possess some responsibility for technical direction to others who assist on specific work assignments.
  • Maintain bills of material and performs database updates. 
  • Recommend improvements to existing procedures.
  • Independently apply mechanical, piping, and structural theory.  
  • Independently use mechanical design techniques when packaging mechanical devices with minimum assistance.
  • Proficient at producing mechanical equipment designs. 
  • Independently perform some electrical system design to support mechanical projects.
  • Proficient at using 3D Solids/Parametric software in drawing, modeling and design tasks.  Can develop complex top-down designs, and large assembly layouts.
  • Proficient at preparing and producing assembly piping designs and producing sheet metal designs and drawings using CAD software.
  • Possess good product knowledge.  Experience in designing on air conditioning packaged equipment is preferred.

Job Requirements

What we look for
Required
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite Applications (Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint), as well as Internet software and E-mail
  • Minimum of 7 years’ experience in related field
Preferred
  • Experience in designing in Creo
  • Experience in design of packaged equipment
  • Associate Degree in Engineering, Drafting or equivalent science
