Job Description

What you will do
Define the strategies to achieve the operational excellence in PS US, with lean manufacturing thinking on the process and the operations. Be change agent utilizing the lean manufacturing technics, industrial engineering, standardized work, etc. Identify the productivity improvements, stablish the correct and optimize manning and working capital (not limited to operations). Review of the capacity and foot print in the region and also review the capacity plans expansion to balance the future demand.
This position can be based in one of our Power Solutions facilities
Who does this position report to?
Continuous Improvement Director of ME and CIC (US)
How you will do it
  1. Validation of the manning for the plants based on the production needs.
  2. Validation and optimize the routing operation, and document on the different IT systems in the US Plants. 
  3. Coordination of the productivity / OEE calculation aligned with the plants scorecards.   
  4. Coordination of the deployment of the follow tools (Gap Analysis, Standardized Work, Cycle Time Analysis, etc.) in each of the US plants.
  5. Support on the strategic projects (expansion or capacity increase).
  6. Benchmarking between the plants and other regions, to assure the deployment of best practices.
  7. Identify improvement projects to eliminate the no value added in the plants.
  8. Support the reduction of down time in the plants on a systematic way.
  9. Providing ad-hoc analysis on special request
  10. Responsible for fostering effective employee relations.
  11. Performs any other duties as assigned
  12. Travel up to 50%

Job Requirements

What we look for
  • Bachelor’s Degree required (preferable Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Industrial Engineering)
  • 8 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Must have very strong process knowledge and linked with the cost and benchmark.
  • Previous experience with Six Sigma or Lean preferred
  • Good communication skills with the plants team members and leadership
  • Influence with data the necessary changes in the plants to achieve operational excellence
