What you will do
This role is responsible for the design, architecture, development, and ongoing support of Supply Chain Applications (With Logility Demand & Supply planning being the core application) that supports Johnson Controls Power Solutions internal users (Supply Chain organization & factories). This individual needs to possess knowledge about business practices in Supply Chain area and IT related concepts to help implement the best technology solutions that fit business and IT strategic roadmaps.
This role combines business strategy and industry best practices to set application development direction that is strategically aligned and business value-focused.  Works with cross-functional business/IT teams and IT Business Partners in translating business demand into actionable roadmaps.  Ensures successful plan, build, test, and run of integrated enterprise IT capability/services.
This individual needs to drive continuous improvement to stabilize/rationalize existing IT application landscape and needs to have the ability to deliver support, enhance and build (project work) on time and under budget while following Johnson Controls Application development standards.
This role is also responsible for the management, development and engagement of its people, including the hiring of staff, their instruction, coaching and evaluation.
How you will do it
  • Technical Acumen - This individual owns the Supply Chain Application Platform (with Logility Supply & Demand Planning being the core application) for Power Solutions including design and architecture, administration, and management of integrations. S/he is responsible to build the high-level Roadmap of the application implementation (in the area of responsibility) and upgrade and maintain an efficient and seamless integration between Supply Chain applications and other integrated environments (Mainly SAP & QAD ERP systems).
  • Application Portfolio Management
Works with IT business partners, Corporate IT and external partners to enhance business capabilities while simplifying the landscape over time. Manages a portfolio of current, compliant, supported applications the business can rely on.
  • Application Development “BUILD”
Leads the technical design, development, testing and implementation of IT applications (in Supply Chain area) through operating a metrics-based management system. Provides internal and external staffing to meet the needs of the approved project portfolio and planned application enhancements.
  • Application Support “RUN”
Provides reliable 24x7x365 (or based on agreed upon SLA’s with business) application support services. Accountable to manage vendor relationship for externally managed applications and holds them accountable to SLAs and contract. Hold team members accountable for proper, timely support of systems and restoration of service. Lead root cause analysis of failures and ensure implementation of permanent corrective actions. Track and report out on application support metrics and key outages.
  • Team Management
Responsible for hiring and professional development of staff. Selects, develops, coaches, and reviews associates/employees and contingent workers. Conducts individual performance and development planning performance reviews, other supervisory interactions and proposes salary increases.
  • Business Alignment - Meets with user management and staff to understand business requirements and to determine system requirements for Supply Chain area. Works with customers to define and prioritize improvement initiatives. Assists in building strategic roadmaps and aligning the business initiatives with IT initiatives to shape the IT vision and strategy.
  • Business Case Development – Assists business facing IT in developing business case and overall project strategies including project plans for major efforts that satisfy the business needs of that functional area for review and approval by management.
    • Provide work effort and cost estimates to business relationship and PMO teams as requested.
    • Responsible for management of all internal and external 3rd party development and configuration of IT systems in Supply Chain area.
    • Responsible for qualification, selection and commercial agreements with external solution delivery parties.
    • Work in collaboration with other IT delivery teams to ensure compatibility of designs and consistent delivery practices.
    • Ensure design and delivery of solutions compliant with IT General Controls and SOX.
    • Responsible for overall quality of solution delivery and successful cutover and launch activities.
Application Support “RUN”
    • Provide support services tailored to the needs of the business.
    • Accountable for incident response and resolution.
    • Escalation point for P1 Major Incident Management processes within the area of responsibility.
    • Continuously analyze support incidents and recurring problems to recommend and implement corrective actions.
    • Responsible for long-term care and feeding of all Supply Chain applications. Establishment of health measurements and investment proposals to prevent inadvertent aging or failures.
    • Responsible for annual IT SOX self-testing and remediation efforts for in-scope applications.
Team Management
  • Staff Management - Responsible for the professional development of staff. Responsible for hiring of staff personnel in area of responsibility. Conducts interviews, individual performance and development planning performance reviews, other supervisory interactions and proposes salary increases.
Employee Engagement – Contribute to efforts to drive improvements in employee engagement.

Job Requirements

What we look for
  • BS Degree in Information Technology or similar field.  
  • 8 years’ experience defining, implementing and supporting Information Technology systems with an emphasis on manufacturing processes and continuous operations. 
  • 5 years of hands-on experience in implementing demand and supply planning solutions (Logility is strongly preferred) for a manufacturing organization.
  • 3 years of experience in leading team is preferred.
  • Experience supporting applications in a 24x7x365 manufacturing environment.
  • Experience delivering within structured Project Management methodologies in both waterfall and agile environments
  • Experience leading individual programs greater than $250K in size.
  • Action oriented, with the ability to understand and willingness to get into systems development details when warranted. “Do what it takes” attitude.
  • Strong analytical skills with demonstrated ability to convert business needs into system requirements. 
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Multi-lingual capabilities preferred
  • Demonstrated IT leadership skills with a proven track record of success
  • Willingness to travel internationally to support job responsibilities as required. (Approx. 10%)
