What you will do
Position Title: Testing Laboratory Senior Safety Specialist                    
How you will do it 
Job Responsibilities and Authority:
Within the limits of authorized company policies, procedures and programs, the Laboratory Senior Safety Specialist is responsible for the duties set forth below:
 
  • Develops test procedures according to ISO 9001 and ISO/IEC 17025:2017 requirements incorporating Engineering Procedures and UL-CTDP requirements.
  • Maintains ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation with laboratory certifier
  • Conducts internal audits to the requirements of ISO/IEC 17025
  • Directs, coordinates and exercises functional authority for planning, organization, of the safety testing laboratory
  • Leads on audits performed by laboratory certifier
  • Performs risk assessment, safety testing and evaluation of products according to IEC 62368 and IEC 60950
  • Directs and coordinates activities concerned with technical developments, scheduling, and resolving engineering test programs during conformity evaluation
  • Assists sales personnel, project managers, product designers with interpretation and significance of the applicable electrical safety requirements and/or standards and approvals issues
  • Prepares test specifications and report templates, issues test and evaluation reports
  • Selects test samples as needed for evaluation.
  • Documents non-conformances and advises customers on proper resolution
  • Researches complex assignments requiring the development of new or improved techniques and procedures, provides internal training as needed.
  • Assesses the feasibility and soundness or proposed engineering solutions from the point of view of compliance with the conformity evaluation
  • Prepares interim and completion project reports
  • Determines the characteristics of equipment submitted for conformity evaluation
  • Performs conformity and/or type testing, analysing and interpreting test data
  • Reports opinions and interpretations regarding the standards and tests for which the laboratory is authorized to perform.
  • Develops and assesses the validation of new test methods
  • Accepts other responsibilities as the Manager Compliance Services may from time to time assign
 
 
 

Job Requirements

What we look for
Required

  • Post-secondary education in the electrical field
  • Has expertise and minimum of 5 years experience in the field of testing and evaluation, regulatory affairs business, familiar with the standards terminology, familiar with the applicable standards specified within the scope of accreditation, relevant knowledge regarding manufacturing, materials, knowledge of general legal requirements, a good understanding of significance of any deviation with regard to the use of items, materials, components involved regarding the items that are evaluated, etc.
